Wednesday Holy Communion

The Holy Communion is celebrated every Wednesday at 11am in St Johns Ashe Street. This is followed by Coffee and fellowship in the Ashe. All are welcome.

 

Select Vestry Meeting

The Tralee and Ballymac Select Vestry will meet in Teach an tSolais on Thursday 6th August at 7.30pm.

 

Changes to the service rota, August only.

We won’t have services in Ballyseedy or Ballymacelligott on the 16th August. This is  to enable parishioners to attend Tralee that morning.

The Service on the second weekend in Ballyseedy will be held at 7.30pm on the Saturday evening the 8th rather than on the Sunday morning.

 

200 years of St Marys Roman Catholic Church in Camp.

It was an honour to be present at the Mass to celebrate this anniversary and I was really delighted and so proud to see so many parishioners from Kilgobbin present in the congregation.

This is a testimony to the good ecumenical relations that have existed in Camp as long as anyone can remember.

Interestingly the site for the church was given by the then Rector of Camp The Rev John Fitzgerald Day which was new to me and a good news story from that time.

 

St Johns Tourism Project.

The  opening hours for the festival week have been extended.

We're open for visitors every day from Wednesday 12th through to Saturday 22nd from 12pm to 4pm. And we're very grateful to Kathleen and the volunteers and delighted to welcome Sharoon Emmanuel and Katie Fletcher as new volunteers.

If any parishioners happen to be in Tralee, pop in to the Church if you have a moment to spare.

 

 

 

 

St James Dingle

Now that the extension has been completed at St James, work continues, We were fortunate to get €9,575 from the Built Heritage investment fund and €1000 from Kerry County Council to refurbish the windows  the Church.

This work is ongoing at the moment and we hope to apply again to the same fund to complete the work next year. Many thanks to Cecil who is looking after this project.

 

Our final Graveyard services of the summer will be held Ballyseedy Church on Saturday the 8th August at 7.30pm.

During these services we prayerfully remember all those who buried in the grounds and those who grieve for them.

 

Roses in St Johns

There will be a united service in St Johns on the 16th August.

For many years some of the Roses, their families and entourage attend our Church for the Sunday Morning Service.

This is also a window into our parish for the visitors who come amongst us so that weekend.

I would encourage parishioners and friends to support the parish on that Sunday morning. Bring a friend, Tell a neighbour.

It is an opportunity for the parish to link with the wider community as we celebrate the roses and all that the festival means to Tralee, To Kerry and to our Diaspora.

The Kerry Chamber Choir will also participate in the worship and Bishop Michael will preach.

 

 

Concerts in St James Dingle: with Eoin Duignan are continuing on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays of each week.

 

Parishioners in Hospital

If you or someone known to you is in any of the hospitals in Tralee, please let me know.

At present and because of GDPR the hospitals are not allowed to give patients names.

I will only be too happy to visit, as part of my job is to provide pastoral care to Church of Ireland patients in the hospitals. UHK and the BONS or in any of the nursing homes in the parish area.

 

Altar Frontal

Many thanks to Rev Phyllis who created a beautiful frontal for the Holy Table in the west room.

This will enhance the experience of those who worship there on Wednesdays during the winter and add to the sacredness of that space.

Newsletters

It has come to my attention that on occasions the newsletter does not get to everyone on the email list for some reason.

So, if on any occasion in the future you or someone known to you does not receive an email copy of the newsletter around the first Sunday of the month, please let me know so that I can check the email list and resend the newsletter.
