Christmas fair
The Christmas promises to be another wonderful parish fundraising and community building event. We will have all the usual fare, fresh baking, Jams and Preserves, Christmas crafts and decorations, flower arrangements and the ever-popular Silent Auction, raffles, Guess the weight of the cake, festive games and many other delights.
Burgers and sausages, teas and coffee and apple pie will also be on offer.
As Rector I am very proud of the parishioners who put so much effort into making it the success that it always is.
It is also one of the ways in which we reach out and connect with the communities in our area. Spread the word and please come and enjoy all that is on offer.
Christmas Communions. I visit a number of homes on a regular basis to share Holy Communion with those who are unable to attend church. If you know of anyone who is not in a position to attend church and would like Christmas Communion, please let me Know
Rev Mark Blakely was welcomed as Priest in Charge of the Kilcoleman Union of Parishes this Friday evening at a service in St Michaels Church Killorglin. He was joined by Parishioners and friends and parishioners from his former parish in Sidcup in South East London.
We wish him well as he begins his ministry.
Jesse Tree Service
A service based on the theme of the Jesse Tree was held in St Johns on the 24th November.
Other Voices
The Other Voices concert series is taken place in St James church Dingle from the 28th November to the 2nd December. This has been a wonderful experience for the parish as it brings lots of people to the town on that weekend and is a great boost to the local economy in so many ways.

Altan in St Johns Ashe Street.
Altan will perform in St Johns on Sunday the 8th December at 7.30pm.
We are delighted that this wonderful Traditional group have chosen to play in St Johns.

Placement
Stuart Broomfield is an Ordinand studying for ministry in the Theological College.
He has just begun year one of the four year course and is following the part time pathway towards MTh. He will do some of his placements with us in the Parish.
Stuart is originally from the midlands but now lives in Killorglin and worships in Kilcoleman Union.
We look forward to getting to know Stuart and sharing with him as he prepares for ministry.
Hospital Visiting
As Rector I serve as the Church of Ireland chaplain to the Tralee Hospitals and I am happy to call to any parishioners from my own parish and any other parish who may be in one of the Tralee hospitals or in one of the many nursing homes in the area. Because of GDPR we are unable to access the names of parishioners who may be in hospital. Please let me know if you know of someone who would like a visit.
Confirmation 2025
We have been given a date by the bishop as follows, Confirmation will be held in Tralee and Dingle on the 4th May in St Johns. Confirmation is open to anyone in sixth class and older. Please let me know if you are interested I can send an application form which needs to be completed and returned .
