Wednesday group
The Holy Communion is celebrated every Wednesday at 11am in St Johns Ashe Street. This is followed by Coffee and fellowship in the Ashe.
St Johns will be open for the following hours during the summer months on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 12noon to 4pm.
We are thankful to Kathleen and to those who support her in maintaining a welcoming presence in the church during these hours.
I would encourage parishioners who might be in town to drop in a say hello.
St James Dingle.
We will have services in St James on the 1st Sunday of the month until the autumn, reverting to the normal schedule for the winter.
Confirmation
Many thanks to all who prepared the church and contributed to the wonderful service that we had in St Johns on the 4th of May and to our young people who were confirmed and to their families.
It was a memorable occasion.
Ecumenical Service St Columba Kilflynn.
This annual service will be held in the grounds of Kilflynn Church on Monday the 16th June at 7pm as we remember with thanksgiving those who have been buried there through the ages.It also an important community occasion and it’s followed by tea and refreshments in the church. The Church is leased to the Kilflynn Area development group and they keep the church and grounds in such good repair and for this we are very thankful.
There will be a similar service in St Johns Brewery Road during the summer at a date to be decided.
Sympathy.
We extend our sympathy to Joyce O’Donnell and the O’Donnell family on the untimely death of Cathrena Clifford from Castlemaine who resided in Kilmallock.
Cathrena was the mother of Alanna and partner to Bryan. Her funeral service took place in Kiltallagh Church of Ireland and she was buried next to her mother Rhona who died 14 years ago.
To Maurice and Nienke Carmody and family on the death of Maurice’s Dad John in Listowel. John had been unwell for some time. His funeral took place in St Marys Church Listowel.
To Lettie Young on the death of her brother David Loane in Dublin and also on the death of her niece Pauline. Their funeral services took place in Dublin

Exam Students,
We wish all those doing state examinations in the next few weeks every good wish.
A prayer.
Loving God be with me as I prepare for my exams.
Calm any anxiety that I may feel. Help me to remember what I have studied, to express it clearly and to answer the questions as best I can.
Grant me the assurance that you are with me at this time. Amen
St James Dingle.
Eoin Duignan will continue his series of concerts in St James on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights for the next few months.
St Johns School End of Term.
A service to mark the end of the school year and to say farewell to the students who are leaving will take place on Wednesday the 18th June at 11am.
It provides an opportunity to give thanks for the work of the students and the Staff and to pray for the young people as they prepare to move on to new schools in the autumn.
Parishioners in Hospital
Due to privacy rules and GDPR it’s not possible to ask in hospitals anymore for a list of C of I patients. I am happy to visit any parishioner in any of the hospitals and care homes in the wider parish area. The provision of pastoral care to Church of Ireland patients in the hospitals such as UHK and the BONS is part of my role. I work closely with the full-time chaplains, but please let me know if you or a loved one would like a visit or indeed if anyone known to you would like a visit.
