Confirmation weekend
We look forward to welcoming Bishop Michael, Parishioners as well as the friends and families of our confirmation candidates to St Johns this the Sunday 4th May.
We continue to pray for Adam Alison, Charlotte, Corla, Declan, Elliot, Jake, Jotham, Luke and William and their parents as they promise to make their own the baptismal promises that were made for them by their parents and God parents.
We will be joined by Harry Huggard from Middleton for the service.
Harry is the grandson of Margaret and John Groves.
Pope Francis.
Rev Jim and Rev Robert represented the Parish and robed at the Mass of Thanksgiving and celebration for the life of Pope Francis in St Johns Castle Street on the 23rd of April.
It gave us an opportunity to show our sympathy and solidarity to the Roman Catholic Church on the death of the Pope and share with them as they gathered to give thanks for his prophetic and pastoral ministry.
Rogationtide and Ascension Thursday.
Rogation Tide assembly with the school on Wednesday the 28th May at 11am

They will already have held a concert in the Church on the 29th April.
This concert is open to everyone and there will be a retiring collection for Church funds.
Eoin Duignan will begin his series of concerts on the 7th of May.
Concerts in St Johns
Concert in St Johns on the 24th May will be a joint effort between the Kerry Choral Union and the Allegri Choir from Derry, this is organised by Debbie Brown(nee Boyle) from Tralee who teaches in Donegal and sings with the Allegri choir. Funds raised will be for the Kerry parents and friends.
Holy Strollers
On May 24th the Holy Strollers will be walking in the Carrauntoohill region. NOT climbing the mountain but instead enjoying a beautiful looped walk in the valley below. Following a mix of sandy, rocky and uneven trails, this walk takes us below the famous Devils Ladder, into the Hags Glen with Lough Callee beside and under the NE side of the majestic mountain.
With a mere 200 meter ascent (approx.) this lovely 5km walk takes about 2.5 hours to complete (depending on the level of fitness of participants on the day).
Proper walking boots with ankle support are essential for this route and walking poles are highly recommended as well as appropriate clothing for the weather on the day.
We'll meet at Teach an tSolais at 10am or Cronin's Yard at 11am. Start and finish of walk is at Cronin's Yard where refreshments, loos and car parking are available.
If you wish to join us, please let Olive know in advance at 086 3102577
Parishioners in Hospital
Due to privacy rules and GDPR it’s not possible to ask in hospitals anymore for a list of Cs of I patients. I am happy to visit any parishioner in any of the hospitals and care homes in the wider parish area. The provision of pastoral care to Church of Ireland patients in the hospitals such as UHK and the BONS is part of my role. I work closely with the full-time chaplains, but please let me know if you or a loved one would like a visit or indeed if anyone known to you would like a visit.
Rogation Days
Almighty God, whose will it is that the earth and the sea should bear fruit in due season: Bless the labours of those who work on land and sea,
grant us a good harvest and the grace always to rejoice in your fatherly care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
