Roses and Rosebuds.
It was great that have our very own rose bud taking part in the festival this year.
Hannah Butler proudly wore the Rosebud sash to the morning service in Tralee much to the delight of her parents , family and to us
her fellow parishioners.
She was part of many events that busy festival weekend.
On the Sunday morning, we were joined by five roses and their escorts, New found land, Louth, Galway, New Zealand and Yorkshire whose grandparents are parishioner of Gorey Union in Co Wicklow.
Keely O’Grady the New Zealand Rose went on to win The Rose of Tralee title later that week.
We were delighted with the attendance and the Parish centre was buzzing afterwards as people mingled, chatted and enjoyed refreshments. Many thanks to all who contributed to the service and to the refreshments in teach an tSolais afterwards.
Congratulations to:
Padraig and Chrystal on the birth of their second daughter Eliza, a sister for Mia Mai
Opening of St Johns.
Thanks again to all those who so generously gave their time to keep St Johns open for visitors during the Summer. It’s always surprising at the number of local people who come having never had the opportunity to visit before. This year we had all our tourism literature, video and graphic panels available in the church for visitors. Many thanks to Olive who coordinated the visitor program.

HONESTY TABLE
Our Honesty Table, which is situated in the vestibule in St John’s, continues to
be a valuable source of income for the parish. Its success is as a result of the
generosity both of those who contribute goods for sale and those who
purchase the items. Betty Groves has recently been very busy making various
types of jams and these will be available to purchase over the coming weeks
and come highly recommended!!! We are very grateful to Betty and to the
many other contributors and also to Mona who initially began and continues to
coordinate this worthwhile initiative.
LIBRARY/CHILDREN’S CORNER
If you haven’t checked out this little space which has been created within the
Kermode Chapel, be sure to do so. Feel free to browse through the many very
interesting books which have been generously donated by parishioners. The
books are available to borrow and enjoy at your leisure.
The area also has a supply of colouring pages, crayons etc., which makes it an
ideal corner for anyone with young children to sit during services.
Parishioners in Hospital
If you or someone known to you is in any of the hospitals in Tralee or in any of the Nursing homes in the area please let me know.
At present and because of GDPR the hospitals are not allowed to give patients names.
I will only be too happy to visit, as part of my job is to provide pastoral care to Church of Ireland patients in the hospitals. UHK and the BONS.
